Found in a used copy of Love in the Time of Cholera by Gabriel Garcia Marquez: (which I just finished)
Slipped in between pages 84 & 85 an article about Albert Einstein (Unsealed letters shed light on Einstein). Can’t tell what newspaper it’s from, although the typeface looks like something local to Stamford — maybe the Advocate or some New York paper that isn’t The Times. It was just torn from the paper without cutting it out with scissors. I wonder who had the book before me and why they were so interested in this article about Einstein to save it. Was it for someone else to read?
I’ll find random things in used books, mostly receipts or airplane ticket stubs. Sometimes phone numbers or highlighted and/or underlined entries. I keep them in the book when I’m finished. I like to let my imagination wander.
