The Resolution

In the past, my New Year’s resolution has always been to keep in contact with people more. I’m keeping it the same for the most part, but I think I will take it a step further than that and try to share my life a little better with people I know. I am so used to doing things like going to dinner, movies, concerts, etc. alone and I really enjoy having the time to myself BUT I forget when I do that that I leave people out in the process. Instead of going it alone every time, I might just try to include someone else in and not be so isolated all the time. I feel like I don’t see my friends as often as I should. When someone invites me to go out, I shouldn’t flake out.

It’s also been a dream of mine to travel out of the continent, and I am going to make it a point to do it this Spring. I have only been outside the U.S. when I went to Canada and Mexico. I think for my 30th year on this Earth I have to go a bit further than that… (which reminds me… I have to think of some spectacular way to celebrate this milestone) My sister and I are in the beginning stages of making plans to visit a few countries in Europe, we’re not set yet on where we’re going, but it’s agreed upon that England is going to be our starting point and we’ll go from there. It’s cliche, but I do feel drawn most to the countries that make up my background: England, Ireland, Germany (I’m also Russian, but we’re not gonna go that route just yet). I think once this travel bug has really bit me, I’m gonna want to go to more far off places — particularly Greece or Turkey (Istanbul!) because that has been a dream of mine for the longest time. I don’t know that I’m ready for that just yet.

I just threw out my 2007 calendars, I’m ready to get one (or two!) for 2008 and start filling them in.
